Chairwarden was not built for tattooing
It was built for one person running one calendar, and the calendar part works the same whatever is happening in the chair. The parts specific to your trade are not there, and pretending otherwise would waste your afternoon:
- No reference photo upload on the booking form.
- No consent form, intake questionnaire or aftercare sending.
- No portfolio gallery — your booking page shows your services, not your work.
If those are what you came for, this is the wrong tool and it is better that you know now. If the thing costing you money is a session getting cut in half, keep reading.
A day-long piece deserves a deposit
You choose the percentage per service, so the big pieces can ask for one and a consultation does not have to. The charge goes directly to your own Stripe account; Chairwarden adds no fee and takes no share of it.

Can clients send me a reference photo when they book?
No, and this is the honest limit worth naming up front. The booking form takes a name, a phone number, an email and the reminder channel — there is no photo upload. References still reach you the way they do now, by DM or email. If that is the single thing you need most, Chairwarden is not the whole answer for you yet.
Is there a consent form or an aftercare template?
No. Chairwarden does not do intake forms, consent documents or aftercare sending. Those stay wherever you keep them today. What it does is the calendar, the deposit and the reminder.
How does it know a session is long?
You tell it once, in two numbers: how long a quick job takes and how long a long one takes. Anything at or above the long number is protected automatically, so a half-day session is guarded the moment you add it.
Can I still squeeze someone in myself?
Yes. Protection applies to what clients can book online, not to what you can do. Adding a booking by hand inside a protected block is always allowed — the rule is there to stop the calendar filling itself in badly, not to stop you.
What about the deposit on a big piece?
You set a percentage per service, so a $600 half-day with a 50% deposit takes $300 at booking and the rest at the chair. The money goes to your own Stripe account as a direct charge; we add no fee and take no percentage.
